LO3 Generation of Appropriate Ideas


My main aim in the campaign is to show the quality and the ease of use on The Explorer Action Camera.

Idea 1

Internet/print ad
featuring a skier in action who is using The Explorer Action Camera.
The image will capture the quality of the product and how easy it is to use in the situation.

Idea 2

Tv/Internet ad
Features a skier going down a slope and then moving the footage from his Bandit on to a laptop with great ease.

Idea 3

Internet/Print Ad
Featuring a closeup of a sportsman and the camera mounted on to his goggles with a background that is a photo of a mountain line

Lo2 Aims and Objectives

The aims of the campaign is to advertise the product and to get it more popular and known to the public.

The campaign message is to get people to buy the advertised action cameras.

The Action camera business is controlled by GoPro so the aim is to give the smaller companies a voice and show that there are other good cameras out there.



Lo2 Legal and Ethical

What is copyright?

Copyright is when a certain piece of media is created/taken by a person and it makes them the only person who is allowed to use the piece of media unless he allows other people to use that media.
(protect the intellectual property)

Why is this important?

This is important to us as we can protect our images from being stolen and used by other people.

Gaining permission to use other peoples media.

A release and connect form is a form that allows you or other people use a certain media that is
copyrighted. this allows you to use the image to your own liking.

This form involves models names, what this permission allows you to do, owners name, signatures (this makes the document official). you will also need permissions to take photos from certain private locations.

You are not allowed to use a telephoto lens in public places as you are able to take a photo from a long distance away and the person will never know that a picture of them has been taking.

In public spaces you need to be careful as you may accidentally take pictures of logos and they are affected by copyright.

legal and ethical

We need to be conscious of representation when taking pictures because we could miss-represent people/companies/religions/ethnicities/abilities as you may get sued.

LO2 Planing a Print Advertising Campaign

a) The Product
I wish to advertise the The Explorer Action Camera
The aims and objectives of the campaign is to advertise the bandit action camera and to make it more well known

The target audience of The Explorer Action Camera are extreme sports enthusiasts both male(90%) and female(10%) ages 18-30  A1, B1, C1

The message that my campaign is trying to get across is that The Explorer Action Camera is perfect for you and will be the best investment to create great footage of your extreme adventure.

The campaign is being created for smaller companies to get them more attention in the extreme sports society instead of people just using GoPros.

b) Schedule
The major milestones of this production are
- Completing all the planing
- Taking the pictures
- Editing


c) Legal and Ethical
The product is copyrighted by the distributor this will be an issue but will be sorted with the company.

The raw materials are all original content made by me therefore there will be no problem with me using it.

The model will have done paperwork/release forms therefore allowing me to use the footage that has them in it.

M2 Audio Visual
My idea for the audio visual advert is a skier going down a slope with The Explorer Action Camera mounted on his helmet where he does casual slope and the video will just show the quality of the footage that this camera is capable of. The footage will have a model that will perform a few tricks with the cameraman to make some more exciting footage. The footage will be filmed in Austria. The product will be distributed worldwide on social medias such as Facebook and Instagram. The vide will be around a minute/2minutes long.

Because of legal and ethical reasons I will have a restriction on what I can and cannot film. I will have to be very careful on what I get in the shot and be sure to not get anyone who doesn't want to be in the footage.
